1 year in New York City!

Today, one year ago I was just a Swedish girl that was going to New York to live her dream. Today, one year later I know most of the city of my dreams like the back of my hand. Every day is though since I always miss my family and friends b...ack in Sweden but I do not miss Sweden as a country at all. New York has taught me SOOO much and I´ve met so many wonderful people here that I will never ever forget ♥ New York has been a part of my life and my dream since I was 9 years old and New York has made me who I am today, a strong and confident woman with a vision and a dream of success. Today me and New York is celebrating one year together!

East side to west side...

Tonight will be my last night in the apartment where I´ve been living for one year, since I moved to New York.
Been moving little by little in Ikea bags by bus. I mean, I´m a student and can´t really afford a moving truck. Yesterday I filled a suitcase, which ended up REALLY heavy! I had blisters in my hand when I left it at the new place!!
I live on the fifth floor so I had to carry it down all the five flights by myself. THAT SHIT HURT! Good thing that I´m gonna live on the first floor at the new place so I didn´t have to carry it that far up!

Anyways, from tomorrow I will no longer be a "Upper East Side Girl" like Carrie, I will instead be a Upper West Side Girl" like Miranda (yes, i´m reffering to "Sex and the city" boys ;) No, really, from tomorrow until in about 2 weeks I´ll be a "Bronx-girl" since I´ll be living at a friends house until I can move in to my place... It´s gonna be me and J-Lo ;) "Vicky from the block" ;)

(Bye bye Upper East Side)

(Hello Upper West Side)

Lovely sunday in NYC...

It´s been a great sunday so far.

Met up a friend for our regular thai lunch and as usual it was SUPER GOOD!
After the lunch I walked to the gym and it took me probably about 15 minutes and the weather was lovely, sun and about 16 degrees, can´t complain. Worked out for about 1 and a half hour and then I got massage, SOOO NICE!

After that I bought a coffee and walked to K-mart and then I went home. It is now 5.50 pm (17.50) and the sun is still shining and the sky is clear blue, apparently the weather will be even better this whole week!!! I´m not sad at all ;)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have never ever understood people who walk slow.... In this city everything is very fast and "speedy". But, of course there are people who walk like they just woke up. I´m always panicing when I walk behind slow people and of course they walk 3-4 people on a row so that you can´t pass them on any side!
The worst place on Manhattan is Times Square!!!! I don´t think anyone that lives here in New York likes Times Square. I kind of hate myself for saying that because I know everyone on Times Square are tourists and they wanna look at things (I was just like that all the times I was on vacation here before I moved here) but still.. You have to realize that you can´t walk on the sidewalk with millions of other people and then just stop and take a picture!!! I rarely go there because I always think i´m gonna get a heart attack when i´m there but the best Forever 21 is on Times Square so once in a while I just have to go there :/

Spring in New York!

FINALLY the spring has hit New York!
Today we´ve had 20 degrees (C) and it has been so nice! Sunglasses, jacket, a cute top, jeans and boots and yet I was sweating! Took a walk home from school which is about 5 kilometers and takes about 50-55 minutes (of course I walked on Madison ave.!!!) and everyone seemed so happy and satisfied!

On my way home I stopped by the store and bought some Strawberries again :) SO GOOD!

(This is how i´m celebrating the spring!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways, I have started to think more and more about mind control.
A few months ago a saw the documentary named "The secret" which from the beginning was a book. I loved it becasue a lot of what they are talking about is so true. It´s basically about controlling your own thoughts and ideas. You have to thinks as if you were already there.. For example, don´t think "if I ever get rich...." instead you should think "When i´m rich..." Control your thought and believe in yourself because if you don´t truly believe in yourself then who will believe in you?

A day in New York! (Pictures)

So, I didn´t take any pictures yesterday but today I´ve been out all night long and I actually took some pictures :)

First I met up with Ruket and had some really good and cheap Thai food at our favorite place down on 10th street and 3rd ave.
You get to choose 2 entrés and 1 appetizer for 7 dollars!
Today I had the Spicy fish cakes, the dumplings with peanut sauce and the amazing pad thai!

After the lunch we walked over to the west village to meet up with Celina and take a walk along the hudson river

(Celina and Ruket out on the pier)

After the walk at the river we walked on the highline and had a great time :)

It has just been a great day with lovely weather, lovely company and my new York <3

Home on a saturday in New York? Hell no!

Been home for almost 4 hours now and I simply can´t do it! Have to go out! I´ve decided to go downtown and just walk around until my legs are falling off! Maybe i´ll meet some cool people or something? My new motto is "If you snooze you loose"

Can´t stay home on a saturday in the city that never sleeps!

I´ll bring my camera and try to remember to take some pictures and then tomorrow i´ll post it! :D

Somewhere here is where i´ll be walking around tonight! You gotta love it! <3

Walking in New York City...

I must say that New York is the best city to walk around in.
I really love it because there´s so many things to look at everywhere, it´s really never boring! Wherever you go there are crazy people and stores to look at.

Today I was at 107th and Broadway and decided to walk a few blocks.. All of a sudden I realized that I was down on 42nd street. That´s 65 blocks and I just walked around and cleared my thoughts a bit. It was really nice!

Don´t know what my plans are for the evening... Should probably do some homework or just try to get rid of my cold but that seems so boring... After all, it is saturday and I live in the city where ANYTHING can happen!

I love New York city!

Along the Hudson River...

I am so freaking annoyed with my freaking cold!!! It never gets better! Freaking Shit!

Well well, yesterday I took a wonderful walk down at the Hudson River with a friend, candy from Sockerbit (The Swedish candy store) and a soya latte from Starbucks! It was so freaking lovely! I just love walking down there and with great company it´s just unbeatable! Last summer I spent a lot of time down there with my very missed friend Louise (Who was just here for 6 months so she´s now back in Sweden, miss her!!!!). We just sat at the pier with candy and coffee and talked sometimes for hours! The atmosphere at the pier during the summer is just amazing! People are dancing, singing, playing with their dogs and everyone is just happy. Can´t wait for the summer to come so I can go down there and enjoy everything again :)

Weekly update from New York!

So, what have I been up to the last couple of days?

Last friday I was at a TV-show recording. The show itself wasn´t that good but lovely Jimmy Fallon was the guest so that´s why I had to go! Jimmy Fallon is like the sweetest, funniest, most talented and just an amazing tv-host. Love him more and more everytime I see anything he does!

On monday me and my friend Celina signed up at a gym :)
It feels sooo freaking good to be back at the gym (it´s been a few years!) and even though I´ve had a cold the last couple of days we have been there 2 times and we´re going tomorrow morning again! The membership we signed up for at the gym also includes unlimited tanning in the tanning booths which is awesome because it is SUPER expensive to go to the tanning salong here in New York.. I was in there for freaking 8 minutes and today my skin is sooo freaking red! Not god at all!! It hurts to even have clothes on!

The latest celebrity I saw was when I was out on a walk with my friend Elektra. We were walking on Madison ave when a group of older men walked by. Suddenly I realize that one of them is freaking Bruce Springsteen! So cool!

Guess it´s time for me to watch the end of "Late night with Jimmy Fallon" and then go and get some sleep so that I am ready for the gym tomorrow! Meeting Celina at 11 so it´s nice to be able to sleep in :D

Just a little end note, Men in this town are bastards! haha

Shopping on Madison Ave. NYC!

The weather really goes up and down here in NYC... The other day we had about 12 degrees (C) with sunshine all day long and then yesterday it went down to 0 and snow!!! Today we're back at 9 degrees... So wierd, but I love the days when you feel the spring in the air :)

One of the best things to do in New York is just walking around and look at everything that goes on here. There's always SOMETHING going on! My school is about 5 kilometers from where I live and I usually walk either to or from school like 3-4 days a week. The other day I actually walked both to and from school :) great exercise and you don't even think about that you're actually exercising since you just look at everything that's going on :) When I walk home from school I usually walk up on Madison Ave. and just window-shop! Madison ave. has all the most amazing stores and all the big designers like Michael Kors, Chanel, Prada, Bulgari, Carolina Herrera, Calvin Klein, Cartier, Christian Louboutin, Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, Roberto Cavalli, Vera Wang and LOT'S of other stores!! I guess you understand why I LOVE walking there ;) Not that I can afford to shop there (yet!) but I like to look at all the things I would buy if I could, haha!

The picture below is from a few days ago when I walked thru Central Park on my way to the west side :) The sun was shining and it looked so wonderful! <3 I love New York!! <3

I´m baaack!! :)

Well, it seems like life came between me and my blog...

What have I been up to?

Well, I was home in Sweden for about 3 weeks for Christmas and New years which was really wonderful of course! I got to hang out with my family, see my sisters wonderful son Victor and see my lovely dogs! I also went on a 24 hours cruise with some of my friends and had a BLAST!!! :D

Since I came back to New York have realized that this is really what I want to do and where I want to live. New York is the city in my heart and I am thankful for every minute that I get to spend here. This is where my future is and marketing really is what I want to do for a living. I am determent that this is what I´m gonna do. Of course I miss my family and friends back in Sweden every single second of the day but there is no fture for me in Sweden.

A few days ago I found out that I am an honor student at my college, which is totally unbelieveable. Me, that girl who struggled with almost every subject in middle school and the girl who, on the day of her graduation from high school, said "I will never ever go back to school, finally it´s over!!!" Now I sit here in the city of my dreams, studying business marketing and is an honor student at Berkeley College! It´s so CRAZY!!!!
I really feel like sending an email to all the teachers that ever doubted me and especially that one math teacher that said "Well, if you don´t know this by now, you will never get it and you will struggle your whole life". I just want to throw it in his freaking face!!!

Yesterday the Giants won the sperbowl and my roomie and I went to our bar in midtown to watch the game. I´ve watched the superbowl at the TV back in Sweden a few times and I have to tell you, watching the superbowl with the New York Giants, in New York was BEYOND amazing! The feeling in the air was sick! And the fact that they won ust made it better! I don´t even think you can imagine what the party was like when they had won!!!
SICK EXPERIENCE!!!! <3

It´s all about College!

People who know we know that I suck at math! I really really suck at it, but this week before my math test my landlord helped me study and explained everything to me in Swedish. She taught me the easiest trick and I went to the test feeling more confident than EVER!
Today I got the test back and I scored 100%!!!!!! I don´t think I´ve EVER scored 100% on a math test! SOOO HAPPY ABOUT IT!!!

Today I also finnished the draft of my my persuasive essay about why you should eat meat, and I gotta say that it feels damn good! :) Really enjoyed writing it and since I went to culinary school, a lot of what I wrote came from what we actually learned in school!
I really hope i´ll get an A on it because right now my english grade is pretty darn good! :D

One day I´ll have my own Entourage!

My roomie Anna and I loove meeting celebrities and since we live in New York it´s pretty easy to do that! :)

Saw Megan Fox and Cindy Crawford last week and this week we found out that the Entourage cast was going to be on The Today Show!
Entourage is one of my absolute FAVORITE TV-show and I even made Anna watch it and she LOVED it two! We didn´t even think twice before we decided to go down to the Today show set and wait for the guys! The thing is that we found out about it late the night before and since we wanted to be first on set we went there EARLY in the morning! We waited for hours! And I had slept for only 1 hour that night.. Felt like CRAP and just wanted to go home.. The show started at 7 and we were just standing there.. I saw a guy (That we started to talk to later and his name is Sam) that had an Entourage sign and he seemed so eager to meet them. When they finally had arrived and we had seen them going in to the studio a guy came and said something to Sam that made him run.. We ran after him and apperently he knew where they were going out. Once we came to the exit where they were coming out we stood there for about 15 minutes before they FINALLY CAME OUT!!! First E and Drama came out, (Kevin Conolly and Kevin Dillon) E went straight to his car, didn´t take any pictures or wrote any autographs... (don´t know if he´s like that or if he was feeling sick or something had happened, but he seemed kinda lame...) Drama wrote one or maybe 2 autographs and then he left to :/
After that, both Turtle (Jerry Ferrara, Anna´s favorite) and Ari ( Jeremy Piven, MY ABSOLUUUTE FAVORITE!!!!) I went straight to Jeremy and talked (or maybe just said a lot of crazy things and almost started to cry, more or less;)  to him. We took a picture togheter of course :) I love that picture! I mean, it´s not a GREAT picture of me since it looks like i´m about to cry but after all, it´s a picture of my first meeting with LOVELY Jeremy Piven! He is AWESOME! Really nice and he really takes time to talk to his fans! He´s also SO FREAKING SEXY AND HANDSOME!!! OH LORD!!!  LOVE HIM EVEN MORE NOW!

<3 Jerry Ferrara is a really nice guy to! He´s totally down to earth and REALLY sweet! And also VERY HOT!!

After that Vince (Adrian Greiner) came out. He´s cool! He didn´t say much but he gave everyone autographs and took pictures with everyone!

I knew that Jeremy Piven was going to be on "The Late show with David Letterman" yesterday and also Ceelo Green who we love from The Voice so we decided to go there in the hopes of seeing them when they were leaving the show. And of course we did! :D
Jeremy came out first and we were standing on the other side of the street because that´s where they want the fans to stand.. There was a lot of people there! When Jeremy came out me and Anna started to stream his name and told him to come to us! He looked at us and said: "Oh, you´re the girls from yesterday!" HE FREAKING REMEMBERED US!!!! He walked over the street to us and we got his autograph and I also asked for a picture. He said: "Didn´t we take a picture yesterday?" and I answered: "Yeah, but I looked totally crazy and like I was supposed to cry" Then he goes: "You?? Noo, I don´t believe that"´!!!! AAAAW! HE`S TOO SWEET!!!
This is our new photo!

SHIT HE`S HOT!!!!!! <3<3<3

After taking photos and writing autographs he went back to his car :( He was so sweet because before the car drove away he rolled down his window and just waved and said bye! That man is GOOOOD with his fans!!! <3<3<3

Later Ceelo Green came out! He didn´t have time to take pictures but he wrote autographs and seemed very nice :D

One day I will have my own Entourage, that´s not a dream, it´s a fact!

"I´m not here for long, but i´m here to make a difference" (Got that tattoed on the right side of my lower back!)

New York <3

Yep, I still love it :P
I´ve now been here for 10 days and it´s just lovely!

Yesterday we went to an AMAZING "Spring cocktail party" hosted by the the couple that we rent the apartment from (they have an event business) and it really was GREAT!!!!!
We met amazing people and really had a blast!!!
I really look forward to their next party!

I´ve been REALLY hungover today tho which wasn´t so nice :P But we still did our things that we had to do today and then we took a walk around the pond in Central Park :D

Now it´s time for me to work out, take a shower, make a cup of tea and then study!

<3 LOVE TO ALL OF YOU! <3

(yes, pictures will be posted soon, promise ;)
